More Than a Father partners with addiction recovery treatment centers in Frederick and Washington Counties to provide quality parenting programming that enriches the personal lives and family wellness of their patients. We accomplish this by creating a safe environment where we take clients on a journey through their own childhood experiences and discover how their past helps shape their current parenting approach and personality. Our technique for teaching our parenting classes is to take an assessment of our client’s childhood and how they were raised, what they wish could have been different, so they can be better informed on how they are raising their kids. Our biggest learned behavior from parenting is what we have experienced. Our classes are designed to speak to our parents so they may be culturally relevant with the needs of their child in an ever changing world, so they can be best empowered to support their child into adulthood.
