CONFLICT RESOLUTION

Course Description:

Adrien coaches individuals and groups to discover healing by creating a community of practice. Together we learn about ourselves, we learn new perspectives and skills, and together we are able to grow and heal. She believes that conflict is a normal part of human life. How we respond to conflict is the difference between destruction and transformation. She shares tools for conflict management that encourage self discovery, to deepen our connection between the person we were and who we are becoming. These tools and practices serve us for a lifetime of transformative growth.

Over the course of 5 weeks Adrien introduces the following topics:

  • Week 1: Conflict is felt in the Body: the Parasympathetic Nervous System

  • Week 2: Relationship Renegotiation Cycle I: pause at the “pinch” in the relationship

  • Week 3: Relationship Renegotiation Cycle II: learning about yourself instead of fight, flight, freeze, or fawn

  • Week 4: Relationship Renegotiation Cycle III: sharing your learning and deepen trust with feedback

  • Week 5: Thomas Kilmann Conflict Modes: Competing, Collaborating, Compromising, Avoiding, Accommodatin.

Adrien has served for 20 years as a clergy leader of Episcopal Churches, community organizer, social justice activist and mentor for people in life transitions. She has stepped out from under the steeple and is sharing her skills as a teacher and life coach to a broader community of people. People recover and flourish when they are known and loved as their whole selves. She brings 25 years of nurturing leadership and pastoral attention into the liminal and vulnerable space of recovery from addiction.
